Vision Week Celebration and Display

Artist Collective Biographies: 

 

Jarius Bush is the Artistic Director of the Good Guy Collective, a Knoxville-based hip-hop collective. GGC's mission is to empower young creatives to find the best version of themselves and build community through the culture of hip-hop. Jarius also performs as a solo hip-hop artist and is a founding member of Knoxville hip-hop group, The Theorizt.

 

Rachel Milford is the Executive & Artistic Director for Cattywampus Puppet Council. She brings to this position over twenty years of experience in theatre, dance, storytelling, and puppetry arts. Cattywampus Puppet Council is a registered non-profit in the state of Tennessee and fiscally sponsored by Community Shares.  CPC gathers and imagines stories inspired by nature and the human experience in the South East to bring people together. Through workshops, public art, performances, and parades, CPC seeks to promote play and community-based storytelling as integral to our individual growth and the health of our communities. 

 

Rose Attea is a dance instructor at Angela Floyd School, where she teaches contemporary, modern, and ballet. She is also the Director of HUB Movement Project, a youth empowerment dance project, and a certified Pilates instructor. Rose obtained her certificate in Commercial Entertainment from Columbia State and has danced with professional companies, such as Found Movement Group, Nashville in Motion, and Core Project Chicago. 

 

Semaj Johnson is member of the Good Guy Collective, where he records as a solo hip-hop artist and also mentors youth in hip-hop performance and spoken word. He was a finalist in the National Poetry Slam in 2012. Semaj also dances and choreographs with HUB Movement Project and leads capoeira  classes with Knoxville's capoeira group, Capoeira Fundo Da Mata.​
